Creative Oppression Must End

In a world that increasingly demands innovation and creative problem-solving, it is a profound injustice that those who possess these very qualities often find themselves marginalized and oppressed. The C student, whose unique blend of somatic intelligence and holistic thinking holds the key to unlocking groundbreaking ideas, is all too often stifled by an educational system and a society that favors conformity over creativity. This oppression of the creative mind is not only a loss for the individual but a calculated move to maintain the status quo and suppress those who are less easily controlled.

At the heart of this oppression lies a system that cultivates and rewards cognitive intelligence, not because it is the most valuable form of intelligence, but because it is the most easily enslaved. Those who excel in traditional academic subjects, who can memorize facts and perform well on standardized tests, are often more susceptible to conformity and less likely to challenge the status quo. They are motivated by external rewards — grades, degrees, and societal recognition — and are less likely to think holistically or question the structures that provide these rewards.

In contrast, those with high levels of somatic intelligence — the ability to perceive, interpret, and respond to sensory information (Coy, 2015) — are often more emotionally driven and less easily…
