Finding Your Inner Wisdom Is Easy

From the moment we are born, we possess a perfect and innate understanding of our own needs, desires, and boundaries. As infants, we cry when we are hungry, tired, or in need of comfort, and we express our joy and contentment through laughter and playful exploration. However, as we grow older and are socialized into the world around us, we often learn to disconnect from this inner wisdom, and to look outside ourselves for guidance and validation.

The truth is, we never lose access to this inner knowing — it is always there, waiting for us to rediscover and reconnect with it. Our bodies are constantly communicating with us, sending us signals and messages about what we need to feel safe, healthy, and fulfilled. The key is learning to listen to and trust these messages, rather than dismissing or overriding them.

When we feel a sense of discomfort or unease, whether it’s physical pain, emotional distress, or a nagging sense that something isn’t quite right, that is our somatic intelligence trying to get our attention. It is telling us that something needs to change, that a boundary needs to be set, or that we need to take action to care for ourselves in some way. By learning to tune into and honor these signals, we can start to make choices that are more aligned with our authentic needs and desires.
