Genius is Crazy, To Average
Our society has too often labeled unconventional intelligence as “crazy” or problematic, particularly when it falls outside societal norms or defies linear logic. Yet, to the average mind constrained by established boundaries, what appears as “crazy” is, in fact, true genius — a unique capacity to perceive many times what average misses, integrate complexities, and use more fully a wisdom grounded in both body and mind. Twice-exceptional (2e) individuals, with their somatic-cognitive integration, represent this type of intelligence, and society’s reaction to their capabilities is illustrative of a recurring pattern throughout history: society pushes out what it cannot control.
The era we are entering is unlike any other in human history. While past civilizations have faced collapse — empires that rose and fell under the weight of their own rigidity — none have done so with the stakes we face today. The challenges before us are not limited to one region or one people; they are global, spanning continents and cultures. Climate change, rapid technological shifts, and a deep sense of social disillusionment are interweaving in ways that threaten the very survival of humanity. The question is not whether change is coming — it’s whether we can adapt quickly enough to survive it.
