Why Genius is Rude

In a world that often prioritizes politeness over authenticity, it’s easy to mistake directness for rudeness. However, when we label someone as rude for simply expressing their full intelligence and refusing to conform to limiting social norms, we are perpetuating a form of oppression that holds back not only the individual but society as a whole.

Those with exceptional intelligence and the ability to quickly grasp complex systems and emotions are not being rude when they decline to engage in unproductive interactions or refuse to dumb themselves down for the sake of others’ comfort. Instead, they are navigating the world using their full cognitive and emotional capacities, trying to conserve their mental resources for the pursuits that truly matter.

The pressure to suppress or ignore our emotions in favor of hollow manners is a denial of our full intelligence. Emotions are not separate from intellect but rather an integral part of our cognitive processes. They provide us with valuable information and insights that can guide us towards more effective decisions and actions. By labeling emotional intelligence as rudeness, we are denying ourselves access to a vital source of knowledge and understanding.
